Tōhoku Chihō Taiheiyō-oki Jishin

In case you don't know what that means, it is the name given by the Japanese to the recent earthquake.  I realize some people have probably heard enough about it these days, but I am pretty concerned about the health of the people in the anime industry.  Some people might consider that insensitive of me because I should be concerned for everyone, but it's easier to be worried when it's someone you've grown fond of. There is a list on Anime News Network that show who in the anime industry has checked in as still being alive, and it is constantly being updated.  Some people who are on the list include Matsuri Hino (mangaka of Vampire Knight), Aya Hirano (seiyuu for the titular character in The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya), Daisuke Ono (seiyuu for Sebastian Michaelis in Black Butler), and Hiromu Arakawa (mangaka for Fullmetal Alchemist).  People who are still missing or have not reported include Maaya Sakamoto (seiyuu for Haruhi Fujioka in Ouran High School Host Club), YUI (J-pop singer), and the entirety of Studio Ghibli and its president Hayao Miyasaki (production company for movies such as Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, and Ponyo).  Please pray for the people of Japan.

It's Alive!!!!

Jeez, I sure never thought I'd be putting up one of these things anytime soon!  Soooo I guess all I can say is WELCOME!  Congratulations for having the misfortune to come across this little blog. I can tell you this about it: this blog is not going to be a diary for me to bitch and complain 24/7, nor is it going to be my profound outlook on the meaning of life (we all know it's 42 already).  It's just going to be a little blog where I talk about whatever I want to talk about, and see what other people have to say about it.
